about 20 under 40 • the 20 under 40 list You might know some of the names or faces. You might not. But the people we honour on the following pages have all in some way altered the social, political and cultural landscape of our city. Some achievements are subtle. Others, out of this world—literally. Some are big, grand and loud, while others fit on a small window on a computer screen. As is our tradition, there are artists, business people, politicians, musicians and filmmakers. In what’s probably a first, however, we celebrate the achievements of two young children who are probably oblivious to their cultural impact. In another first, we roped in contributors to write about our 20. They are friends, family, industry peers - people who know these people and their career well. Whatever these 20 personalities’s claim to fame, however, they all share one thing in common—they remind us of what’s possible in this city of ours.
