It is fair to say that Mohd Zulkifli Abdul Jalil is the face of Gua.com.my. In fact, MZul, as he’s known in the industry, was tailor-made for this role. Coming from a long background in the publishing world, he famously helmed FHM (where he had a lot of fun), launched New Man magazine in Malaysia, and later oversaw a revamped Malay Mail in his first stint with Media Prima.

So when a start-up in the world of content creation needed a visionary trailblazer in early 2007, few would have looked beyond him.

Since the official launch of Gua.com.my a year ago, MZul and the rest of us often marvel at the numerous milestones we’ve found ourselves passing. Our first online drama series Kerana Karina. Our music download portal Guamuzik.com.my and our recent major concert: Guamuzik Supergig ’08.

Creating content with MZul is easy—his admiration for beautiful girls, music and entertainment news makes the job fun. We co-created Kerana Karina. MZul, being an acclaimed lyricist, even had fun writing its theme song. He also takes time to check comments and moderate them, not letting anyone else take that heavy responsibility. The forum is his “baby” too, where he actively engages our members with his characteristic, affable style.

Gua.com.my is fast fulfilling MZul’s constant reminder that we can become the “biggest entertainment and lifestyle portal with the best content.” There’s no limit to where we can go from here and, looking at what’s in store in the near future, I can’t wait to see it happen.
