Justin Yap, 23 • Fashion Designer

Young, uniquely fashionable and full of energy is what Justin Yap is. Even at the tender age of 12, his interest for fashion had already begun. Now in his twenties, Justin has already made a name for himself in the fashion industry and winning a few awards for his evening wear designs further proves that. Being only 23, he is already on the road to joining other renowed designers in the local fashion scene. What makes him different from the other designers is his surety of his style and direction of creating his brand of fashion.

“I noticed that some designers do not have the consistency in their designs. Having your own unique signature and actually sticking to it is another thing.” he explains. Using simple, clean lines coupled with lavish materials, Justin's creations are effortless to wear out, making him one of the favourite designers among the expats and locals alike. "I want my clients to go on the street and make people go 'wow'."

To him, being successful gives him that added boost of confidence in his work. “There's no point working if you don't hope for success.” he points out. Essentially, it all boils down to passion and drive which can easily be seen in his gleaming eyes. Because without that, none of this would be possible.
