Amir Muhammad
Amir Muhammad is a multi-tasking extraordinaire. This writer, publisher and filmmaker is one of the nation’s most controversial names – his last two documentaries Lelaki Komunis Terakhir and Apa Khabar Orang Kampung were banned, igniting much debate. But you knew that, didn’t you? A regular on the film festival circuit, Amir has two upcoming films to be released in the second half of 2008 – Malaysian Gods and Susuk. Currently, he is a columnist for The Malay Mail, Off The Edge and Tell. His publishing company, Matahari Books, has put out two best-selling books namely New Malaysian Essays 1 and Politicians Say the Dardnest Things (Vol 1). The second edition
of the latter will also be released later this year.

Bernice Chauly
The name Bernice Chauly should not be unfamiliar to you. A writer, poet and a photographer, Chauly has been a beloved part of the Malaysian arts community for the past 18 years. As a writer, she has authored two books on Sharifah Mazlina who has the honour of being the first Malaysian woman to reach the North and South poles. Chauly also recently released her second book of poems “The Book of Sins”; she also founded literary gigs like Readings and CeritAku. As a photographer, Chauly has a passion for black and white film. Currently, she is a lecturer with Sunway University College’s School of Performance and Media, teaching Play and Screenwriting. |
Jonathan Teoh
Jonathan Teoh is a practicing architect and also the Creative Advisor of the Truly Loving Company. Ng Ping Ho
Ng Ping Ho has been involved in creating some of the most popular television series in Malaysia. This writer/director is the force behind hits like Kopitiam (but of course!), Realiti, reality show The Firm and most recently, Ghost which was a hit with audiences. Stars like Lina Teoh, Elaine Daly and Cheryl Samad have Ng to thank for helping launch their careers. Other than that, Ng along with friends Anne Low and Soo Kui Jien also founded The Talent Factory, an artiste management company that helps nurture the careers of both established and emerging talents. Needless to say, Ng knows how to spot potential. |
